In our eyes, the translation should still be sufficient when you come back, provided that the driver’s licence has not changed at all. However, it will ultimately be determined by the local police on whether or not they accept your translation of your driver’s licence. Therefore, you may want to check with them, or just have it translated again to be safe.

Please check the ICBC website for detail information.

What is there to check? Everything which is not forbidden is allowed. If you want to prove something is forbidden, just show the evidence. You cannot seriously expect me to go through every single word on ICBC website to find something I know does not exist, do you?

Take it easy man, I'm not forcing anyone to translate it or what, I'm just telling what I knew and provide a way for people who need to translate. This post is just for letting people to understand what ICBC is expecting. Thank you so much.

No you don't know nothing. You are just spreading misinformation and misleading people.
The truth is that ICBC does not expect people to get a translation just for using a foreign DL FOR DRIVING.
ICBC expects a translation when people try to apply a BC license using their foreign DL.

OK, that's what i got in the website, believe it or not, ICBC do recommend people to get it translated. Once again, I'm not forcing anyone to do this, it's up to you. I'm not misleading anybody.

"Welcome to B.C.! While you're here, you'll have plenty of time to get around by car. As long as you hold a valid driver's licence from your home jurisdiction, you can drive here for up to six months from the last time you crossed the border.

If your licence is not in English, we recommend that you obtain an international driving permit (IDP). If you're unable to obtain an IDP, it's recommended that you get a language translation (if applicable) of your driver’s licence from an ICBC Approved Translator. The IDP or translated driver’s licence will assist police should you get stopped while driving."

Hi Ron663 I recommend you give me $100. Does it mean anything? Yes of course it means something. It means that you do not have to give me $100.

So thank you for pasting the above information. What you pasted just confirms my point: No law or ICBC or any police authorities require people to get translation.

Of course you are misleading people. It sounds like you are implying that if you don't get translation then you are forbidden to drive, which is not true.
