Prosecutor Paul Lewis QC said: “My lady, that is the case for the Crown.”
Mrs Justice Nicola Davies reminded the jury not to talk about the case over the weekend or do any research online.

Prosecutors read agreed facts to the jury
Prosecutors are now reading out some “agreed facts” to the jury.
These are facts that are agreed between the prosecution and defence.
The facts include Ms Bi’s medical records, the time of the 999 call and Ms Bi’s time of death.
Other agreed facts include the details of the couple’s tenancy agreement.
The court heard Ms Bi did not have Tinder installed on her phone.

'I wouldn't do this to my worst enemy'
Asked if he wanted to add anything, Matthews said: “To be honest, just the black belt thing, please.
“I was very young. To be honest I can’t remember how to throw half of those punches without falling on my face. I swear to god I don’t know anything anymore.”
The officer asked: “But you did hurt your girlfriend?”
Matthews said: “I hate myself for doing that to such an innocent girl.”
He added: “I’d just like to say I’m sorry for anything I’ve done. I’ve loved her for a year and a half.
“I would never in no shape or form lay a hand on Xixi Bi, yes I know I’ve done it.
“Hitting her killed me enough, let alone killing her.
“I was going to propose to her. Why would I kill her? I know I did and I’m killing myself.
“Yeah I have beaten her up and she’s dead now. I wouldn’t do this to my worst enemy.
“I didn’t mean to kill her, I had no intention.
“I only wanted to know if she’d cheated on me. I don’t hit girls, officer, I really don’t.”

The interviewing officer asked about eight healing rib fractures found on Ms Bi.
Matthews responded: “I swear to god I don’t know anything, I didn’t do anything. I don’t know anything about the old bony injuries.”
He added: “That’s a lot of ribs. I promise you officer, it’s not me.”
The officer said: “If you haven’t caused them yourself and she hasn’t mentioned them to you. She hasn’t mentioned having eight fractured ribs?”
Matthews replied: “No.”
The officer asked: “You haven’t assaulted her?”
Matthews said: “Officer you wanted the truth and I’ve given you nothing but it, mate. I’ve told you everything that’s happened.”
