Federal Immigration Minister Jason Kenny has formally advised provincial Immigration Minister Allan Campbell that some P.E.I. Provincial Nominee Program immigrants will indeed have to wait five years for their visas, despite Campbell’s insistence to the contrary.
Campbell said his conversation with Kenney was a ‘very positive conversation,’ and that Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has agreed to process the 1,000 applications originally stated as P.E.I.’s target amount for 2008 over the next nine months.
…on behalf of Kenny, that a legal opinion gained by the ministry has advised them that immigrants have a right to be notified of extended waiting times.
“As a result, letters will be sent shortly advising applicants of this,’’
个人猜测:1000名可以在9个月内处理完,其余的有可能会等到5年,这些移民会被通知到这样的等待的时间, 所以收到FN信中有36-48个月字样的人即是在1000名之外的人。求证
