I am happy to help you with buying a house in Kingston, as well as helping you when it is time for you to move to Kingston. Below are some of my thoughts about the two houses on Kijiji:
- One advantage with the house on Alfred Street is that it is a bit closer to the Queen’s campus and it is detached (not connected to other houses, like the one on Montreal Street). It also has a porch on the second floor, which is nice.
- One advantage with the house on Montreal Street is that it is much closer to the downtown and shopping. Also, the inside of the house looks like it is in better condition than the one on Alfred. The neighbourhood around the house on Montreal is also probably nicer too, though the people in the adjoining houses could be nosiy.
- I am not sure if you want any property. The house on Alfred appears to have a backyard. I'm not sure about the one on Montreal.
- Neither house appears to have a garage. It would be nice to have a garage to park the car, especially in winter.
- Both houses are very large (lots of bedrooms). It appears that both are being rented to students right now.
- Overall, it you do not want property (a front and back yard), I think that the house on Montreal Street may be the better choice.
Jill mentioned to me that she may visit houses you are interested in buying to examine them and take photos. I think that this is a good idea.
I hope that what I have written is helpful. Please email me again to let me know what is happening[/font]
