When communicating in English, the speaker shoulders more responsibility than the listener. In contrast, the opposite is true if they do so in Chinese: the listener often has to work harder.
中文表面上是平铺直叙,意思的结构由读者去完成。英文则通过一些小词儿,把意思的层次表达出来。上面两个英文句子之间,好像不用个in contrast, 也得用个however之类的词儿。
