形容词直接否定不能直接用don't , 要用don't be , 其次，我们习惯说take it easy, 质疑你不是开玩笑的时候，我们会说are You serious ? 用词不可太重。

说实话，我见过在欧美澳洲学习工作多年（不知道什么工作哈，不追究）但英语比楼主差得多的，大家就多担待，鼓励为主好了。
加拿大人虽然缺点多，但有几点很好：低调，大多不轻易说自己有钱、学历高、工作好之类的（以修养和行为来展示）；还有，尽量给人尊重。
楼主刚来，这也算是需要学习的“加拿大经验”（如果楼主愿意接受的话），但自信依然是非常重要的品质。
