Duties
The successful candidate will:
Learn to splice, test and repair all kinds of lead and metallic covered cable from underground to overland cables
Learn climbing skills, safety procedures, tool/material use and bucket truck operation before moving on to more complex technical skills and challenging assignments
Learn the practical and technical aspects of working on underground residential distribution (URD) cables first before learning to work on paper insulated lead covered (PILC) cables
Work outside in the sunshine (or rain) in a variety of environments from working underground in manholes, etc., to doing submarine cable work, to working on overhead lines at heights of 30-40 ft.
Handle large, bulky and often heavy materials or equipment as well as perform intricate repairs
Share in the satisfaction of helping restore power to customers at any time of the day or night.​

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
High school graduation with the following courses: English 12, Math 12 and Physics 12 or equivalent. Must have normal color vision and Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement.​

Hi jasmine, 我前段时间也对牙医助理很感兴趣，当时跑到VCC问，他们说他们的waiting list很长，基本上当时报的话，明年9月都排不上。还给我说差不多得等2到3年。我当时挺失望的就没报。想问下你什么时候报名的，排了多久，还有高中生物成绩怎么弄得？想到还要在成人高中再学一遍就很烦啊

我就在vcc读的生物，读了四个月，免费的，但听说其它学校也可以读，网上读的vcc也承认的，象Vancouver school board也有。如果你以前读过但没超过五年，也可以。我去年十月报的，当时也告诉我要等一到两年，但没想到一年都不用就有位了，也许太多人等的太久而放弃了。

谢谢 jasmine提供这么详细的信息. 真的很羡慕你今年九月份就可以去上了。我来了也是为选专业而发愁，一直犹豫不决不知道该选什么，好不容易看中牙医助理这个专业了，结果跑去学校一问就受打击了。现在都不知道怎么办了。在这边上学还要排队，真的好折磨人啊。有时候能上学也是一种幸福，祝你九月份学的愉快。
