A feature film about magic and martial arts will be shot in Bella Coola, BC. We are casting the following lead roles:
1. Tony Lu. A Chinese man in his 50s, a film star and martial art master. Speaks English and a little bit of Mandarin.
2. Ruby. A Chinese girl, 10-12 years old. Native English speaker.
3. Karla. Ruby's mother who adopted Ruby from China. Caucasian.

中国84个矿工去年申请加拿大工作签证，希望前来卑诗北部矿场工作；不过移民部北京办事处要求他们需具备一定英语程度，令申请个案困难度增加。
最新一期《移民资讯汇编》（Lexbase）获自移民部北京办事处去年一份内部报告指出，卑诗省计划在东北地区建立新矿区，需要由中国输入数百个矿工，开采地下煤炭，其中第一批84个矿工已在去年10月递交附带劳工意见书（LMO）的工作签证申请。不过，移民官随即与卑诗省能源、矿务及天然气厅就一重要问题交涉，就是要求中国矿工具英语能力。
移民部认为，为确保矿工在矿区的工作安全，申请的矿工应该达到加拿大语言基?（Canadian Language Benchmarks，简称CLB）或雅思（IELTS）相关程度以上，否则难以获得加拿大工人应有的工作安全知识。
半技术工人英语须达雅思4
今年6月中，中国开滦集团在卑诗北部开发的盖森煤田(Gething Coal Mine)计划才顺利获得省政府核准，投产工作已全面展开。据中国媒体国际煤炭网的报道，为了满足项目后续矿井建设工程的需要，开滦集团将派出人员进驻，首批外派人员数量达96人。
有关84个矿工工签是否来自中国开滦集团，《星岛日报》记者周二曾就此问题向卑诗能源、矿务及天然气厅查询，但至截稿为止，尚未接获回覆。
卑诗省长简蕙芝(Christy Clark)是在去年11月访华时，与中国企业签下对盖森项目投资13.6亿美元的合约，预计为卑诗创职6,700个，显示盖森项目得到省政府的全力支持。盖森位于卑诗省东北部，共有20亿吨煤资源，主体是炼钢需要的冶金焦煤。据德华网站称，盖森拥有每年200万吨的产煤潜力，煤矿寿命超过20年。
Lexbase总编辑兼移民律师李克伦（Richard Kurland）周二接受《星岛日报》记者访问时表示，移民部已修法，明年起所有半技术工人(semi-skilled worker)都需具备一定英语能力，须达IELTS平均4级，估计不少来自中国的矿工都难合格，这令他们的申请可能被拒签。
