Thorough knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in carpentry.
Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Ability to plan and construct a variety of specialized wooden structures, to perform skilled cabinet making and other related tasks, to read and to work from blueprints and sketches; to design and supervise the work of assistants. Skill in the use and care of all tools essential to woodworking. A valid Trades Qualification in Carpentry is required and a BC Driver’s licence is required.

The West Vancouver Financial Services Division has an immediate opening for a temporary, part-time Accounts Payable Clerk I.
Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Supervisor of Accounts Payable/Receivable, this position will be primarily responsible for:
• Processing accounts payable transactions;
• Checking balances, matching and verifying invoices and prices;
• Identifying and correcting errors related to data input and missed payments; reconciling accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger; and preparing journal entries;
• Providing information and assistance to internal and external contacts concerning accounts, charges, services, fees, billings and related matters;
• Maintaining files and documents and generating computer reports;
• Assisting in the year-end preparation of accrual entries, working papers and audit reports;
• Investigating issues of non-payment and other payable/receivable problems; and,
• Performing other related duties as required.
Requirements
The preferred candidate will possess: the ability to perform basic accounting in accordance with established rules, regulations, policies and procedures and under general supervision; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, suppliers and the public, and provide information and assistance on work related matters; and the ability to maintain sustained attention to detail, make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy and to meet deadlines.
The successful candidate has completed: courses in accounting, business, or bookkeeping plus some related accounting and clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate is required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials.
Job Status : Temporary Part-Time
Hours of Work : 21 hours per week (Hours and days of work may vary. From time to time the incumbent may be requested to work additional hours, depending upon operational requirements)
Compensation - Hourly : $22.35-$26.27 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
